About Us

Over the past 11 years in the solar business, I have witnessed tremendous growth and innovation in the industry. However, when I started, solar energy was still considered a niche market, and many people were skeptical about its viability.

However, the tide has turned. Solar now stands firmly as a mainstream energy source. Moreover, solar’s affordability, scalability, and durability have made it a top choice for homeowners and businesses.

In the early years, installing solar panels was about reducing one’s carbon footprint. Today, solar panels are equally about financial savings as much as environmental impact. Beyond just energy savings, homeowners and businesses alike have seen significant addition to their property values as a result of installing solar panels.

I have seen solar installers embrace different solar technologies over the years, such as thin-film, mono & poly-crystalline technologies, their efficiency has also improved significantly, and their designs have become more flexible and versatile.

Innovative financing models such as leasing, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and community solar have emerged, making solar installations more accessible.

NEM 3.0

NEM 3.0, or Net Energy Metering 3.0, is a proposed policy update in California that would allow homeowners with rooftop solar systems to continue receiving credits for the excess energy they produce and send back to the grid. This policy update is expected to benefit residential solar by providing increased compensation for homes’ energy.

Under the NEM 3.0 proposal, homeowners with solar systems would receive compensation for excess energy at a slightly lower rate than the current NEM 2.0 policy. Still, they could continue receiving these credits for 20 years instead of the current 25-year limit.

Overall, NEM 3.0 is expected to continue supporting the growth of residential solar systems in California, providing homeowners with the benefits of clean energy and potentially reducing their electricity bills.

Tax Credit

The solar tax credit (also called the investment tax credit ITC) lets you deduct 30% of the cost of your solar system. Anyone who owns a residential system is eligible for the tax credit. However, you need to actually own the system – meaning you’re not leasing your panels.
